Seismic Exploration

Seismic methods allow us to discern measured contrasts in the behavior of acoustic waves in the subsurface. The three methods commonly used for exploration, engineering, and environmental applications are refraction, reflection, and Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW). Our team is experienced utilizing all three seismic methods to answer a wide variety of client questions. We are equipped to perform seismic surveys to a depth of 10 feet or 10,000 feet depending on your project needs. Our wireless geophone system allows us to operate efficiently in settings where cabled systems present additional issues (stream crossings, urban area vehicle traffic, etc.) The Gehrig, Inc. team is also equipped with the instruments and software to perform downhole and cross-hole seismic testing per ASTM standards.
